TOTP Token Generator
Generate a TOTP code
TOTP Token Generator creates 6- or 8-digit authentication codes on your device. Enter a Base32 secret key or an otpauth:// setup URI, choose the number of digits, token period, and algorithm, then click the copy icon beside the code. Match these settings to the service you are signing into.
What is a TOTP code?
A time-based one-time password (TOTP) is a short authentication code calculated from a shared secret and the current time. Codes usually change every 30 seconds. The secret must come from the service's two-factor authentication setup.
How do I save and manage my codes?
Auto-save is on by default. Turn it off to generate codes without saving, then click Save when you want to keep one. Saved codes appear newest first. Click a name to rename a square, use its copy icon to copy the current code, or delete the square when you no longer need it.
Where are my secret keys stored?
Code generation runs in your browser. Saved keys use unencrypted browser storage on this device and are not sent to our server. Clearing site data removes saved codes. Use a trusted device and keep your original authenticator and recovery codes.
Why is my TOTP code not working?
Check the secret key, number of digits, token period, algorithm, and your device clock against the service's setup instructions. A code may expire before you submit it; wait for the next code and try again. Select SHA-1, SHA-256, or SHA-512 to match the service. Setup URIs select the algorithm automatically.
